NCDOT (The North Carolina Department of Transportation) will close the exit ramp from Interstate 85 southbound to US 74 westboud in Gaston County for beginning Tuesday (Feb. 23rd) to perform daytime road maintenance.
The I-85 southbound ramp to US 74 (Exit 10B), going toward Shelby, will be closed daily between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:30 pm from Tuesday (Feb. 23rd) - Friday (Feb. 26th) for asphalt repairs.
Southbound traffic on the interstate will be detoured past Exit 10 to Exit 8 (Highway 161/York Road) and will need to exit there and travel northward to access US 74.
Motorists should use caution while traveling near the work zone and expect some delays.
