Lawndale Woman Killed In Friday Morning Accident

Wayne Howard

26-year-old Ashley Mull of Lawndale fastened her children in their car seats and fastened her safety belt.  That probably saved the children's lives, but Ms. Mull died when she lost control of her car; it overturned, and she was killed.

Trooper J.M. Crouse said the car apparently ran off the right side of the road, Ms. Mull over-corrected and lost control and the vehicle overturned.  The children, ages one and five, were taken to CMC-Lincoln but they were expected to be OK.

The accident happened on NC182 in southwestern Lincoln County northwest of Cherryville.
