Factory Mattress Sales – Where People Are Treated Like Family

Business Features

If you lived in Cherryville during the 40's, 50's and 60's you might remember Rainwater Furniture.

Max and Margaret Rainwater opened their first furniture store in 1948. Max was in charge of sales and buying, Margaret was the company bookkeeper and they had a good life there.

They raised four children and kept the business until the early 60's when Max decided it was time to retire. Now retirement can be great for some, but not for Max.

By 1977 he decided to open a second furniture store out in Boger City. This time the name was changed to Furniture Mattress Sales.

It was a good place for a furniture store they thought until the new 321 highway was built and the store had to move. So Max got to work and built a new building not far away on Dave Warlick Drive.

He and Margaret worked there until their daughter Julie Dixon and her husband Mark bought the place in January of 1991. In May of that same year Max passed away. Margaret decided to step away from the business and Julie, Mark, and Bobby (Julie’s brother) took on a new career. Later, nephew Joseph Rainwater joined the team.

So what can you find at Factory Mattress Sales?

Well, mattresses of course. Julie and Mark keep the six top major brands like: Sealy, Simmons, Park Place, American Bedding, Comfort Solutions, and Tempur Pedic. They also carry mattresses for campers, trailers, and 18 wheelers.

I’m sure most of you would like to know how to pick the perfect mattress. Here are a few tips from Julie.

  • First, you want the right size. Most couples will need queen.
  • Second, always use a good mattress pad.
  • Third, remember to replace your mattress every eight to ten years.
  • Fourth, always buy the best mattress you can afford.
  • Julie also recommends you lie on a mattress for at least fifteen minutes before you buy.

Mattresses are not the only thing you can find at Factory Mattress Sales. How about, bedroom furniture, sofas, recliners, lamps, pictures, pillows, bedding, sofa tables, end tables, love seats, day beds, and iron beds.

Service can’t be beat. They will deliver and set up the new then dispose of the old. If you are elderly and have difficulty turning your mattress then they will come out and help with this also.

“We like to treat people like family.” Julie says.

They also have 90 days, six months, and 12 months financing with approved credit.

So next time you are in need of a mattress or furniture stop by Factory Mattress Sales. Where family is always waiting on you.
