There was some good news for all county employees, as the Commissioners, all of whom were present, said they would take action at their next meeting later this month to make the pay raise approved for county employees retroactive to July 1, 2014.  The pay raise had been approved to take effect January 1, 2015, but county employees will now get the extra pay retroactive to the start of the fiscal year.

"We're blessed to have a lot of good people who have worked hard for this county," said former Commission Chairman Alex Patton in telling about the plan to retro the pay raise for county employees to July 1st. "We've  got the money in the fund balance, so it's just right that we take care of employees who went without raises during the economic downtown. It's the right thing to do, and we all (commissioners) agree."
