The pandemic has been difficult for many; especially for teachers and others in our educational system who have had to deal with something they had never encountered before.  Lincoln County Schools is saying 'thank you,' like many other school systems across the state, by paying what is called a 'retention bonus.'

School Board Approves New Districts For Elections
The Lincoln County Board of Education approved new districts for school board elections Tuesday (Nov. 2nd).  The approved plan now goes to the Board of Elections and then must be approved by the State Elections Board, but that's largely a formality.

Two area school boards took opposite views on masking at Monday (Oct. 25th) meetings.  The Catawba County Board of Education decided to stay with its mask mandate until the next school board meeting on November 8th.  The Lincoln Charter Board voted to make masks optional.
