Gaston & CVCC Announce New Program With NCSU
Gaston College and Catawba Valley Community College have become the first two schools in Western North Carolina to become a part of North Carolina State University’s Community College Collaboration Agreement (C3).

Weather-Related Schedule Changes
It appears that we 'dodged the bullet' on the weather scene.  While eastern NC is getting some more winter weather, our area appears to have missed the snow.  There was some mixed precipitation Thursday night in Gaston County; Mt. Holly was having some snow showers, but no accumulation was expected, only a 'dusting.'  Here's the report on weather-related schedule changes.

The pandemic has been difficult for many; especially for teachers and others in our educational system who have had to deal with something they had never encountered before.  Lincoln County Schools is saying 'thank you,' like many other school systems across the state, by paying what is called a 'retention bonus.'

School Board Approves New Districts For Elections
The Lincoln County Board of Education approved new districts for school board elections Tuesday (Nov. 2nd).  The approved plan now goes to the Board of Elections and then must be approved by the State Elections Board, but that's largely a formality.
