Maiden Police Arrest Two During Traffic Stop
Charges Include Felony Possession of Methamphetamine

MAIDEN, N.C. - On Sunday, May 5 at 11:09 p.m., Maiden Police officers initiated a traffic stop for Failure to Display Taillights on Startown Road. The 2004 Honda Element passenger vehicle was driven by 39-year-old Jeremy John Howard of Maiden.

During the officer’s interactions with Howard, they observed several used, uncapped hypodermic needles, and other drug paraphernalia. Officers searched the vehicle and discovered a small quantity of Methamphetamine along with a loaded .40 caliber pistol. Howard was arrested, transported to the Catawba County Detention Center where he was charged with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Driving While License Revoked. Howard was held under a $6,000 Secured Bond.

A passenger in the car, 34-year-old Elizabeth Michele Bailey of Maiden was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Gaston County for Failure to Appear. Bailey was held under a $32,000 Secured Bond.
