Traffic Stop Recovers Stolen Vehicle; Drug Charges

LINCOLNTON – A traffic stop on Reepsville Road on November 29 has led to the arrest of two people on a number of charges including possession of a stolen vehicle. The traffic stop occurred in the 2800 block of Reepsville Road after deputies noticed the license plate light on the red in color Nissan truck was not working.
Deputy D. Hendrix asked the driver and passenger to step out of the vehicle and that is when he noticed a glass pipe in the center console cup holder. Deputies Hendrix and M. Farra checked the license plate on the vehicle which came back as registered to a Jeep. Deputies then checked the vehicle identification number of the truck and learned it was reported stolen in Shelby, N.C.
A search of the vehicle turned up a multi-colored zippered pouch which contained a large number of syringes, a metal container, and another glass pipe. Inside the metal container were several baggies containing marijuana, methamphetamine and heroin. Shelby Police had the vehicle towed to a storage area where it will be processed.
Ronald N. Wallace, Jr., 48, of Bessemer City Road, Gastonia, NC was charged with one felony count each of receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle, felony larceny, possession of stolen goods, possession of a controlled substance Schedule II, possession of a controlled substance Schedule I, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance Schedule VI, and possession of a controlled substance Schedule VI. He was also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and resist, delay, and obstruct a public officer. Wallace was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on the premises of a penal institution. He was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $21,000 secured bond.
Jamie Rae Baker, 26, of Hoyle’s Trail, Kings Mountain, NC was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance Schedule I, possession of a controlled substance Schedule II and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was jailed under an $11,000 secured bond.
