Trio Of 20-Year-Olds Arrested After Shooting Incident

Tuesday afternoon (June 23rd) shortly after 4:30, Catawba County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a person shot on Winebarger St. in Conover. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered one person had been shot in the leg, suffering serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A short time later deputies located a green pickup truck that the 9-1-1 caller had reported as the source of multiple shots fired at the Winebarger St.location. The truck travelled along C&B Farm Rd. until it was involved in a wreck at the intersection with Highway 16. The occupants left the scene of the collision and before being stopped by law enforcement on Smithfield Drive NW in Conover. Two of the three occupants fled on foot.

Lucas Alejandro Garcia was arrested on Smithfield Dr NW. He was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling. He was jailed under a $20,000 bond.

Devon Michael Lewis was apprehended later Tuesday and charged with Felony Conspiracy. His bond was set at $10,000.

Jakobi Amore Farley was taken into custody Wednesday morning (June 24th) at 1:40 AM after being located at a residence in Hickory. He was also charged with Felony Conspiracy, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling. His bond was also set at $20,000.

All three were scheduled for a first court appearance on Wednesday.
