Shooting Incident

Gaston County Police
Press Release

On Thursday afternoon at about 3:40 PM the Gaston County Police Department responded to the 600 block of Capps Drive near Bessemer City in reference to a reported vehicle accident.  Once officers were on scene, it was determined the driver of the vehicle had been shot. 

Through the investigation, the suspect was identified as Zachary Michael Patrick McGraw, 19, of Belmont. McGraw goes by the nickname of “Ziplock”.  He is considered armed and dangerous.  McGraw is wanted on outstanding Attempted 1st Degree Murder warrants.  McGraw is short--about 5'5" tall--and chunky--weights about 195 pounds.

 The victim was identified as: Justin Wiley Cornwell, 30, of Gastonia.
