LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an attempted break-in to an ATM machine in western Lincoln County.
On July 31, 2020 around 3:30 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the Cash Points ATM machine at 756 N. NC 18 HWY after an alarm came in to the Lincoln County Communications Center. Officers checked the back of the machine and discovered the door handle was bent and the door had been forced open. The suspect was unable to gain access to the safe in the ATM. The individual appeared to be white, about 5 feet – 2 inches tall with a heavy build and dark hair.
The suspect was wearing a head lamp with light colored band, a long sleeve shirt, and jeans.
