Press Release

Hickory Police continue to seek two suspects who are wanted in connection with shooting incidents in that city.

One suspect is in custody from an August 3rd shooting incident that occurred at 1725 13th Avenue Drive NW injuring two.

Anton Delrico Harris, 25, was arrested by Gastonia Police on a warrant for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Harris was then transferred to the Catawba County Detention Facility where he is being held on a $75,000 secured bond. He is scheduled for a first appearance in court on the Catawba County charges Tuesday (Aug. 11th).

Hickory Police are still looking for Marcus Deontae Williams, who has outstanding warrants for Assault with Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Two Hickory residents, Tylee Street and Demarcus Brown, were victims in that shooting.

In the other incident on July 29th that occurred in the area of 904 1st Street SW, Hickory Police arrested Tantae Deon Little, 33, for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon; Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Discharging a weapon into an Occupied Vehicle. Little was scheduled for a court appearance on Monday (Aug. 10th).

Another suspect in that shooting, Craig Anthony Ruff, remains wanted on outstanding warrants for Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

“Neither the July 29th nor August 3rd incident were random, nor are the two believed to be related. However, any shooting incident could pose a potential risk to bystanders. We encourage anyone with information to contact police,” said Chief Thurman Whisnant.

These on-going cases continue to be investigated by officers and anyone with information is asked to contact the Hickory Police Department – 828-328-5551 or Investigator M. Chapman – 828-261-2626 – or Investigator C. De Los Santos – 828-261-2621 –
