An Iron Station man, 48-year-old Michael Wayne Rich, was arrested Thursday night (Aug. 13th) by Hickory Police on a felony charge of breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods.
Rich, who told police he lives on Hillview Drive in Iron Station, was booked under a Charlotte address where he had previously lived. Rich had been charged with driving with a revoked license in Lincoln County; that case is scheduled for court in November.
Officers responded to reports of a trespasser at a construction site on Startown Road. Officers said they found stolen items in the Rich’s vehicle. Rich was taken into custody and jailed in the Catawba County Detention Center under an $8,000 secured bond. A first appearance in District Court is scheduled Monday (Aug. 17th) in Newton.
