LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Two people have been charged in connection with the September 18, 2020 robbery at the Murphy Express Convenience Store at 7120 Highway 73.
On September 18, 2020 around 7 a.m. two suspects entered the Murphy Express. They went behind the counter and began grabbing a case of tobacco products valued at more than $2,000 and then quickly exited the store. The items were thrown into a car and the suspects fled the scene.
Detective A. Mocilan began the investigation and working with other law enforcement agencies he learned the suspects are Gabrielle Patience Littleton, 28, of Charlotte, NC and Jeffrey Brandon Merritt, 30, of Elizabethtown, NC.
Warrants were secured on Littleton and Merritt charging them with felony common law robbery, felony possession of stolen goods and felony conspiracy. Merritt was served with the warrants at the Mecklenburg County Detention Center. Littleton is in the Iredell County, NC jail on unrelated charges and has not been served.
