Thanksgiving Robbery In Denver

Lincoln County Sheriff's
Office Press Release

Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Thanksgiving morning.

Deputies were dispatched to the Denver Mart on NC 16-Business around 6:50 AM after the clerk reported an armed robbery.  When deputies arrived the clerk had locked the entrance and was hiding behind the counter but the suspect had left.  The clerk told officers a white male entered the store wearing a black mask, camo coat and a black hoodie.

The man brought several items to the counter to purchase but told the clerk he had to go to his car to get some money.  When he returned he walked behind the counter and pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded the money from the cash register. He took that money and also the money belonging to the clerk.  He left the store in a black vehicle possibly occupied by one other person.

Anyone with information on the incident or suspect is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 704-732-9050, the Lincoln County Communications Center at 704-735-8202 or the Lincolnton/Lincoln County CrimeStoppers at 704-736-8909.  If your CrimeStoppers tip leads to an arrest you could receive a reward of up to $1,000.
