Office Press Release

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A Lincoln County woman has been charged with obtaining property by false pretenses by using a debit card that did not belong to her.

On November 25, 2020 the victim told Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies that a co-worker at the Bosch Corporation took her debit card and cash over several days and used the debit card at several locations to make purchases. The victim said she only realized that someone had been in her car where her billfold was located when they left a soda bottle behind.

The debit card had been used at businesses on November 10, 2020 and November 12, 2020. A store security system at one of the businesses on November 12, 2020 shows the suspect using the debit card.

Shea Amber Borland, 39, of Confederate Road, Lincolnton, NC is charged with one felony count of financial card theft and three felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses. She was also served with an outstanding warrant from Gaston County for one felony count of financial card theft.

She was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed under a $15,000 unsecured bond and released after being processed at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center.
