A 24-year-old Lincolnton man was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison after he pled guilty in Lincoln County Superior Court last week to stabbing his father to death in 2018.
Nicholas Benjamin Lynch, of Tomes Road, Lincolnton, was sentenced to a minimum of 192 months to a maximum of 243 months. Lynch pled guilty to 2nd degree murder in the stabbing death of his father, Oswald Byran Lynch, 59, also of Tomes Road, on February 1st, 2018.
Lynch was transferred from the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center to the North Carolina prison system to begin serving his sentence. LCSO Detective J. Link was the lead investigator in the case along with Baker District patrol officers and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit.
