2/21/2022 12:25:00 PM Traffic Violation Leads to Drug Arrest

On February 12th Maiden Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after they observed a traffic violation. Theofficers observed a white rock substance in the passenger area of the vehicle that officers believed to be crack cocaine.
Officers searched the vehicle and discovered nine individual bags containing a total of 241 grams (8.6 ounces) of crack cocaine. The driver, Charles Kenneth Linebarger, age 74, of Hickory was arrested on the scene. He was charged with Trafficking a Schedule II controlled substance and was jailed under a $21,000 secured bond. He is scheduled for an appearance in district court on March 7th.
