Office Press Release

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A Charlotte man has been arrested in connection with the attempted theft of a vehicle from a Denver business.

On April 5, 2022 deputies were dispatched to 7119 Campground Road reference an attempted larceny of a 2014 Ford F-250 belonging to Adams Automotive Group. Detective F. Runyon was told the business owner was alerted to the incident by their alarm system and surveillance cameras.

When the owner arrived at the business he observed a white van leaving the scene and followed the suspect vehicle while calling 9-1-1. He followed the white van into Gaston County but gave up the chase and returned to his business where deputies were already on the scene.

Items left in the truck that was being broken into led to the identity of the suspect as Jabriaun Dontae Anderson, 31, of Charlotte, NC. Warrants were sworn on Anderson for felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle and felony attempted larceny of a motor vehicle. On April 6, 2022 Charlotte Mecklenburg Police stopped the same van operated by Anderson and took him in custody. He was served with the Lincoln County warrants as well as outstanding warrants from Mecklenburg County. He is being held in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Jail.
