GREENSBORO, N.C. On Saturday, October, 8 Lincoln County resident and candidate for Sheriff, Jon Propst, assisted the United States Secret Service and White House staff with escorting President Donald Trump at the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, N.C.
Propst was selected along with a small number of other law enforcement officers throughout the state to assist with the event. President Trump visited Greensboro to attend a fundraising event held at a local residence. Before the fundraiser, Propst assisted by checking in special guests and driving a van used to escort the press.
"It was an honor to be selected to assist the White House staff and Secret Service and get to see President Trump. I thanked him for supporting Law Enforcement. It was a tremendous opportunity and experience in which I am truly thankful to have been a part of," said Propst.
Propst is one of several candidates vying for the Republican nomination for Lincoln County Sheriff in 2018. Propst is the current Narcotics Lieutenant with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and former two-term Chairman of the Lincoln County Republican Party.
