Office Press Release

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A Gastonia man has been charged in connection with several eastern Lincoln County home break-ins that occurred on September 29, 2017.

The break-ins occurred at homes in the 8000 and 4000 block of Highway 73 and a residence on Beth Haven Church Road, Denver, NC. During the investigation Detective Greg Hager learned that two I-Pads stolen from a home in the 8000 block of Highway 73 had been recovered by Gaston County Police in an investigation of Sidney Guy Owens.

The subsequent investigation led to the discovery that Owens, when he was arrested by Gaston County Police, had in his possession multiple items stolen in the Lincoln County break-ins.

On October 23, 2017 Detective Hager obtained warrants on Sidney Guy Owens, 39, of Jay Street, Gastonia, NC for three felony counts each of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods. He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The warrants were served on Owens at the Gaston County Jail. He is under a $250,000 secured bond on the Gaston and Lincoln County charges.
