LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Charlie District deputies arrested one man following a rash of early morning vehicle break-ins at the Riverwalk Apartments in eastern Lincoln County.

Deputies were dispatched to the area around 1 a.m. on November 28, 2018 after the Lincoln County Communications Center received a call about vehicles in the parking lot being broken into. When deputies arrived they located one suspect who ran from the scene but was apprehended after a brief foot chase.

After a search of the parking lot deputies identified as many as 12 vehicles that were broken into but not all had been reported. All of the vehicles that were entered were unlocked. The incidents are still under investigation to determine what items may have been stolen from the vehicles.

The suspect arrested in the case is identified as Antonio Shaquille Williams, 25, of Hickory, N.C. He is charged with 11 felony counts of breaking and entering a vehicle and one misdemeanor count each of larceny, possession of a controlled substance and resist, delay and obstruct a public officer. He was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $60,000 secured bond.

Investigating officers are Sgt. K. Monday, patrol deputies T. Chapman, J. Rogers, and J. Burns and Detectives G. Hager and M. Burgess.

Anyone with additional information on the break-ins is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 704-732-9050 or the Lincoln County Communications Center at 704-735-8202.
