Unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) increased in all 100 of North Carolina’s counties in October--but unemployment remained near record low levels. Scotland County had the highest unemployment rate at 6.6 percent, while Buncombe County had the lowest at 2.6 percent.
Lincoln County remained among those in the top 10 with the lowest unemployment rate at 2.9%--up only slightly from the 2.6% figure in September. Catawba County's rate was 3.1%, Gaston's was 3.3% and Cleveland's was 3.5%. The statewide rate was 3.4%.
