Using law enforcement investigative tools deputies determined a possible match for the vehicle at a residence on Hudson White Trail, Lincolnton, N.C. The van was not located at the residence but a short time later the vehicle was observed in the parking lot of McDonald’s in Boger City. Deputies conducted interviews with two suspects in the vehicle who confessed to the stolen lumber being taken to the Hudson White Trail home. The lumber was retrieved and returned to the construction site.
Darius Cash Collins III, 30, of Hudson White Trail was charged with misdemeanor larceny and possession of stolen goods.
Katherine Ruth Pell, 38, also of Hudson White Trail was charged with larceny and possession of stolen goods.
Both suspects were released on a $1,000 unsecured bond each.
Investigating officers were Deputy C. Palin, Sgt. A. Helms, and 1st Sgt. S. Grinnell.
