Another Armed Robbery

The rash of armed robberies continues in Catawba County and the Hickory area.

The latest incident was reported Tuesday (Dec. 18th).  Hickory Police answered a late night call (2 AM) to the Aquarium Skill Fish Game business at 320 Highway 70 SW. During the robbery, two black male suspects entered the business, displayed handguns, demanded cash and obtained an undisclosed amount of money. 

The first suspect was described as having a stocky build, approximately 5’5”-5’7” tall.  He was wearing a black mask, black hoodie, black pants, black shoes, and gloves. The second suspect is described as slender, approximately 6’-6’4” tall.  He was wearing a black billed hat, black hoodie, blue jeans, brown shoes and gloves.

This is just the latest of multiple armed robberies that are still unsolved.  They include incidents:

  • September 4, 2018 –Walgreen's – 2427 Springs Rd NE, Hickory
  • September 26, 2018 – CVS Pharmacy – 1504 2nd ST NE, Hickory
  • November 3, 2018 – Dollar General – 4796 Riverbend Road, Conover 
  • November 5, 2018 – Dollar General – 901 Lenoir Rhyne Blvd SE, Hickory
  • November 15, 2018 - Zaxby's - 1330 Lenoir Rhyne Blvd SE, Hickory
