For Moses Nueman, Jr., life is all about faith, hard work and following your dreams.

Nueman, 45, is the chief executive officer and primary technology adviser for the Gastonia-based company, NB Technology, LLC. Nueman recently told The Herald more about his life and work.

A native of Lagos, Nigeria, he relocated to the Kings Mountain-Cherryville area in 1991. He is the son of Rev. Dr. Moses Nueman, Sr. and Vivian Nueman. The younger Nueman and wife Maria and have two children: daughter Myiah Nueman, 19, and son Moses Nueman III, 18.

The tech expert earned an associate’s degree in applied science in information system programming concentration at Gaston College. He later attended Pfeiffer University, where he earned two bachelor of science degrees: one in the management of information systems and the other in business administration, for which Nueman is a magna cum laude graduate.

It was in 1998 that he started his business. And then 10 years ago, Nueman changed the name to NB Technology, LLC.

So what inspired Nueman to go into the computer technology business?

“After working in the mills for a few years, I knew that it was just not the type of work I wanted to continue for my family,” he said. “While studying at Gaston College, I took my newfound skills and began helping friends and families troubleshoot and fix their computer issues. Because of the lack of technical expertise in the technology fields, some of my friends encouraged me to pursue helping businesses that had immediate technical needs. And so NB Technology started.”

And in the computer age, Nueman’s business is one that will never go out of business. There will always be a demand for his brand of expertise, and he is in high demand indeed. He maintains a demanding schedule and is always busy with multiple projects. NB Technology provides highly active management services, as Nueman noted.

“Our day typically starts with reviewing and monitoring what has happened and is happening on our clients’ networks,” he said. “We check for any anomalies and threats across all networks. For me, visiting with clients and prospective clients to educate them on how they can improve their companies’ technology is a big a part of my day.”

And when Nueman isn’t working, he relishes his down time.

“I enjoy mediating and exercising each morning,” he said, “and taking the time to educate people on the real threats of cyber security and providing them with free, actionable steps to protect themselves.

“Another passion of mine is motivational speaking,” he continued. “I love encouraging people and helping them to become the best that God has created them to be.”

Are you among those who want to jump aboard the growing technology wagon train? Let Nueman tell you how to get started in this lucrative career.

“It is essential to have a good technical knowledge in this field before you embark on starting one,” he said. “You can start simply by enrolling at Gaston College, as I did. Consult an attorney to set up the right company entity of your choice. But whatever you do, put your clients first. Take care of them as you would your own company, because your success will be directly tied to how well you take care of them.”

And as the son of a pastor, Nueman touched again on the importance of his faith.

“My faith is my strong pillar,” he said, “and that helps keep me grounded and helps me to be grateful for each given day. I believe that anyone is capable of achieving his or her dreams with God as their Captain. So dream bigger now!”
