A Dallas man who attempted to elude Catawba County Sheriff's deputies wound up in jail with additional charges instead.
Shortly before 1 PM Sunday (Jan. 6th), deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of NC16 and Buffalo Shoals Road on a vehicle operated by Jason Lee Kearney, 45, of 512 Chapman Point Circle, Dallas, known to be wanted on a felony warrant.
Officers said Kearney fled the scene and they gave chase through Maiden and Newton before finally stopping Kearney. When they did, they found meth in the front passenger area of the vehicle.
Kearney was then charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, possession of methamphetamine (as schedule II drug) and probation violation (the charge on the original warrant).
