One of the individuals at the residence tried to block Week’s vehicle but he pointed the gun at them and they moved their car. Weeks and a female fled the scene.
Sheriff’s Detectives J. Propst and M. Burgess conducted the investigation into the incident and determined the firearm was located in Gaston County. A search in a wooded area off Tot Dellinger Road near Cherryville turned up the firearm in a plastic bag.
Buddy Edward Weeks, 33, of Shelby was taken into custody on March 4, 2019 on charges of felony common law robbery, felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony conspiracy, misdemeanor resist, delay and obstruct a public officer, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance Schedule II and misdemeanor communicating threats.
He is in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $54,000 secured bond with a first appearance scheduled for March 5, 2019 in Lincoln County District Court.
