Sheriff's Detectives Investigating Early Morning Carjacking

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an early morning carjacking on Sage Court, Denver.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 3800 block of Sage Court shortly after 5 a.m. when the victim reported the incident to the Lincoln County Communications Center. The victim told officers he was walking to his vehicle in the driveway of his home when he noticed a small SUV parked on a nearby street and three black males walking around the street.

When he entered his vehicle to leave, two of the black males walked up the driveway and the third pulled their SUV into his driveway blocking his car. The suspects who had their faces covered banged on his car window and one of suspects pulled out a handgun and ordered him out of the vehicle.

They demanded his money, wallet and keys to vehicle. One of the suspects drove his vehicle away while the other person got back into the small SUV. The stolen vehicle is a 2014 tan Honda Accord with a North Carolina license plate of CHL-4376. No one was injured during the incident.

Deputies conducted a neighborhood canvas and discovered possibly other vehicles that appeared to have been broken into. Only one additional break-in has been reported.
