Lincoln County Animal Services would again like to take this opportunity to remind residents of the following very important and lifesaving things:
- Rabies vaccination for dogs, cats, and ferrets over the age of 4 months is required by law. A current rabies vaccination is lifesaving for pets that are exposed to rabies.
- To keep safe, don’t approach or handle wildlife, or dogs/cats whose rabies vaccination status is unknown. If you see or come into contact with a wild animal that may be sick, or is exhibiting signs of abnormal behavior, or get scratched or bitten by a cat/dog call Animal Services ASAP at (704) 736-4125, or dial 911 to report it. Reporting these incidents is critical to your health and safety.
Lincoln County Animal Services will be extending our hours at the shelter and discounting the price of 1-year rabies vaccinations to $5 on the following upcoming days:
- Wednesday, March 27 from 12-4.30 p.m.
- Thursday, March 28 from 12-6.30 p.m.
Dogs and cats must be at least 4 months old to receive this vaccine. Please leave animals in the vehicle while completing paperwork and payment inside. Cats must be in carriers, and dogs must be on leash!
Please call LCAS at 704-736-4125 for more information.
