Race City Steel Continues To Grow In Lincoln County

LINCOLNTON, N.C.  - “Lincoln County existing industry, Race City Steel, is planning to invest over $3,700,000 in equipment and building facility in Denver, N.C.” said John Dancoff with Lincoln Economic Development Association.

Dancoff presented a request to the county commissioners on Monday, April 1, 2019 to grant Race City Steel tax incentives based upon the county’s Industrial Incentive Grant Program. Upon the commissioner’s approval of the request, the County will provide $14,456.26 per year in grants for a five-year period after the completion of the project. The grant total is calculated to be $72,281.30.

Race City Steel based out of Denver, North Carolina, is a family owned business that prides itself on quality steel, aluminum and plastic products and superior customer service. Race City Steel was started in 2007, with more than 20 years’ experience in the racing industry and over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry. They currently have just over 30 employees at their Denver facility and will add over 30 additional jobs to their head count.

Damon Lusk, co-owner of Race City Steel stated, “The entire Lusk Family has always called Lincoln County home since moving to the Carolinas nearly 20 years ago, and we look forward to expanding our growing steel business in Lincoln County.”

Joe Lampron, board chair of Lincoln Economic Development Association offered his congratulations, “Race City Steel and the Lusk family have been a great asset to the Denver Community. LEDA is grateful they have decided to continue their success in Lincoln County and looking forward to working with them as they move into a new larger facility.”

Mr. Carrol Mitchem, chairman of the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners added. “Race City Steel is a great partner with Lincoln County and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow with our county.”
