Jordan and Olivia Clary, both students at West Lincoln High School where their father is principal, were airlifted to Atrium Health-Charlotte after they were injured in a collision of their SUV with a pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 27 and Guy Heavner Road, just east of the Howard's Creek Fire Department, late Thursday afternoon (May 16th).
Both had serious injuries and Olivia was said to be unconscious when airlifted, but she is expected to survive her injuries which included broken bones and a concussion. Jordan was released from the hospital early Friday morning.
The accident happened while the girls' father was at the Lincoln County Schools Retirement Banquet where he was scheduled to speak about retirees from his school, but as the event began at 6 PM, he got a call about the wreck and had to leave.
Students at West Lincoln High School held a prayer session for the girls Friday morning at the school.
No details about the accident were available from the Highway Patrol, but the good news is that both are going to be o-k.
