Lincoln County Sheriff's
Office Press Release

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Two people were charged after taking property from Lowe’s Hardware and Walmart in Denver. An off duty officer reported that one of the men loaded a generator onto the back of a pickup truck at Lowe’s and then drove across the street to the Walmart.

Deputies located the vehicle with the generator on the back in the parking lot of Walmart around 8:30 p.m. on June 11, 2019. As they approached the vehicle the driver was making suspicious movements inside the vehicle but deputies were able to remove him from the truck without incident. A search of the glove compartment of the truck revealed multiple needles, a black pouch and digital scales. In the black pouch deputies found various pills and possible illegal drugs in clear plastic bags. Also located in the vehicle was a loaded .22 caliber handgun.
