Two Arrested After Chase West Of Lincolnton-UPDATED
A Sunday evening chase that began in Gaston County ended in Lincoln about 5:45 Sunday afternoon (Aug. 25th) when the suspects wrecked in a soybean field on George Brown Road off Highway 182.
Gaston County Police did not return our call about the incident, but Captain Matt Lykins, who heads up the Patrol Division for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, said two of the four occupants were apprehended after all fled on foot. As of Monday, the other two were still at large.
A Sheriff's Office news release Wednesday (Aug. 28th) said the driver of the stolen vehicle, Corey Allen Anderson, 30, of Stanley, was charged by Gaston County officers with felony possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing to elude arrest in a motor vehicle, reckless driving to endanger, failure to heed a blue light or siren, and resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer.
The vehicle was stolen from Mecklenburg County according to the news release.
