LINCOLNTON, N.C.––It’s here at last.

It’s the new location of Lincoln County Senior Services. And it’s set to open this Thursday, according to representatives of the related Lincoln County Senior Center.

The old site on Academy Street, co-located with the Lincoln County Campus of Gaston College (in the former Lincolnton Junior and Senior high schools’ building), will be closed through Wednesday. The new site, at 612 Center Drive in Lincolnton, will open with very limited class schedules on Thursday and Friday. Normal activities at the center will resume on Monday, Sept. 16.  A Grand Opening and Open House will be held on Friday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Department representatives added that they’re very pleased to be finally going into the site.

“We look forward to seeing everyone in our new location!” they recently said.

The Lincoln County Senior Center is the place to be for all sorts of senior-related activities and information. From learning more about Medicaid benefits, living wills, legal matters, exercise, nutrition and care for your loved ones to educational classes, bluegrass music jams, bingo, cornhole games, yard sales and so much more, Lincoln County Senior Services and its related senior center truly have something for everyone.

To learn more about what’s going on and what’s coming up, senior center spokeswoman Darlene Stroupe encourages you to call the center at (704) 732-9053.
