LINCOLNTON, N.C. – One man was injured and another man arrested following an altercation over their pets fighting.
Deputies were dispatched to a physical disturbance call at a residence on Grandview Lane on October 7, 2019. When they arrived on the scene, deputies learned that Cody John Adam Clark, 27, of Grandview Lane and Timothy Ramsey, 42, also of Grandview Lane, Lincolnton, NC got into a fight and Ramsey was struck in the head with a machete.
The altercation occurred after one of the men used a stick trying to break up a fight between dogs owned by the two men. Ramsey, who was injured, fled the scene and was later located by Lincolnton Police on Lithia Inn Road. Ramsey had a laceration on the head from being hit by the machete and was transported to Atrium Health – Lincoln for treatment.
Clark was arrested and charged by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy H. Prater with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and inflicting serious injury. He was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $35,000 secured bond.
