9/3/2020 8:28:00 PM Head-on Crash Sends Paramedic To Hospital

At approximately 7:40 Thursday morning (Sep. 3rd), a Lincoln County Emergency Medical Services quick response vehicle (QRV) was involved in a motor vehicle collision while enroute to their assigned base. There was a single paramedic on board the QRV.
The QRV was struck head-on by another vehicle near East Lincoln High School on Highway 73. LCEMS units along with East Lincoln Fire Department were dispatched to evaluate all patients from the accident.
The paramedic was extricated from the vehicle and transported emergency traffic to Atrium Health Main in Charlotte. The driver of the other vehicle involved was evaluated on scene by responding paramedics but was not transported to the hospital.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
