Police Seeking Information On Two Homicides

On Sunday evening (April 11th) at 8:11 PM, Gastonia Police responded to the 900 block of Shannon Bradley Road in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a man deceased from a gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as Virgil Stokes, Jr., 49 of Gastonia.

Detectives from the Gastonia Police Department are actively investigating this incident and asking for assistance from the public. Additionally, help from the public is still needed with the investigation of another homicide on March 28th. Around 4 AM on that Sunday morning, multiple shots were fired into a residence at 3601 S. New Hope Road. One round struck Earl Glenn, 62 ,of Gastonia, who died from his injuries at the scene.

Anyone with information pertaining to the April 11th case is asked to call Detective Mike Watts at 704-866-6885.  Anyone with information related to the March 28th homicide should contact Detective D.L. Dover at 704-866-6871.  Anyone with info related to either case can also call CrimeStoppers of Gaston County at 704-861-8000. CrimeStoppers pays cash for information that leads to an arrest.
