Two Gaston County men, one from Stanley and one from Mt. Holly, have been arrested on child porn charges. On Monday (May 2nd) and Tuesday (May 3rd), Gaston County Police, assisted by the State Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security, Cramerton Police and the Lighthouse Gaston County Child Advocacy Center conducted an operation involving over forty cyber tips received through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).
Three (3) search warrants were served on residences; investigators also made thirty-nine home visits and conducted multiple forensic interviews of children at the Lighthouse.
As a result of the operation, Gaston County Police charged Joshua Ryan Kenyon, 25, of 312 Durham Rd., Stanley, with three felony counts of 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a child and three felony counts of 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a child. Kenyon was jailed in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, but was released on a $250,000 bond Wednesday evening.
Corey Lee Swim, 28, of 213 Walnut Ave., Mt. Holly, was charged with six felony counts of 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a child and six felony counts of 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a child. As of Thursday morning, he was still being held in the Gaston County Jail on a $150,000 secured bond.
