More Suspected Drug Dealers Arrested In Operation Play 60

LINCOLNTON – Four more suspects have been arrested in the Operation “Play 60” roundup of alleged street level drug dealers in Lincoln and surrounding counties. Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies and investigators along with Catawba County Sheriff’s deputies have been working on the roundup since 6 a.m. this morning, June 18 when they were briefed on today’s operation by Narcotic’s Division Lt. Jason Reid.

Those arrested and processed since 10 a.m. this morning are:

Jerry Michael Crater, 53, 4650 Ritchie Road, Lincolnton, NC; Possession with Intent to Manufacture Schedule VI; (already in the Lincoln County Jail)

Benny Ray Garrett, Jr., 36, 806 S. Laurel St., Lincolnton, NC; Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II; Sell and Deliver Schedule II; Possession of Schedule II; Trafficking Methamphetamine; Possession with Intent to Manufacture Schedule I; Sell and Deliver Schedule I; Bond set at $100,000 secured

Alfred Scott Martin, 44, 525 W. Pine St. Lincolnton, NC; Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule I; Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule I; Bond was set at $20,000 secured

Marshall Wayne Weathers, 33, 2055 River Road, Lincolnton, NC; Possession with Intent to Manufacture a Controlled Substance Schedule II; Possession with Intent to Manufacture a Controlled Substance Schedule VI; Bond set at $30,000 secured

Melissa Ann Hoyle, 40, 720 Lincoln Street, Lincolnton, NC; Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II; Maintaining a Dwelling for a Controlled Substance; Bond set at $15,000 secured

Keith David Gatza, 30, 2713 Gumtree Lane, Crouse, NC; Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule VI; Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule VI; Maintaining a Dwelling/Vehicle for a Controlled Substance; Bond set at $30,000 secured

Mica Nathaniel Falls, 39, 2861 Old Conover Startown Road; Newton, NC; Maintaining a Dwelling/Vehicle for a Controlled Substance Conspiracy; Bond was set at $15,000 secured

Brandon Owen Townsend, 26, 8287 Brittain Road, Hickory, NC; Possession with the Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule VI; Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule VI; Bond was set at $15,000 secured

Whitney Amber Shoup, 26, 6714 Clyde Wehunt Road, Cherryville, NC; Possession with Intent to Manufacture a Controlled Substance Schedule VI; Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule VI; Bond set at $15,000 secured

Billy Ray Putnam, Jr., 37, 1210 N. Main Street, Lowell, NC; Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Manufacture Schedule II; Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II; Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance Schedule II; Bond set at $40,000 secured

A total of 23 suspects have been taken into custody during today’s operation.  Most of the arrests were made during the early morning push on Wednesday. 

The remaining warrants will be distributed to Sheriff’s patrol deputies who will look for the suspects while on routine patrol.
