Lincoln County's unemployment rate in July was only 7.6%. That's lower than any of the surrounding counties and lower than the state and national rates. While the job market has been hurt by the pandemic, there are still jobs available. Many Lincoln Countians are driving to jobs in neighboring counties when they could be working closer to home.
Whether you're currently unemployed, getting less than full-time work, or just looking for a change, you may want to investigate local opportunities during a virtual job fair this Thursday & Friday. The Lincoln Economic Development Association (LEDA), the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, and NC Works (Job Service office) are sponsoring a virtual Job Fair both days coordinated by the Centralina Workforce Development Board.
Area companies will have representatives available to give prospective employees details on the kinds of jobs available, the required qualifications, etc. Those individuals who participate will be able to learn about multiple openings that exist at these companies.
