Ian Update
Hurricane Ian did terrible damage in Florida, but for us, it may be on a similar path through our state to that of Hugo in 1989, but Ian is no Hugo.  The high winds will mostly be to the east of us in Lincoln, Gaston, Catawba and Cleveland counties.  What Ian means for us is a lot of rain.

Tropical Storm Ian will hit our area beginning on Friday.  The latest NWS update indicates it may move over our area more quickly and we should see an end to most of the stormy conditions by Saturday afternoon.  Because of the storm, schools in Lincoln & Gaston counties have canceled classes for Friday.

Two Sentenced, One Yet to be Tried in Fatal Wrecks
Santiago Lagunas buckled his 4-year-old son in an approved safety seat in the back seat of his car.  The Obester family was looking forward to a July 4th celebration.  But Liam Lagunas was killed last June and four members of the Obester family died in July 2020.  Speeding drivers cause both wrecks.  Those who caused them have now had a day in court.
