Football Playoff Brackets Announced
Brackets were announced Saturday for the NCHSAA football playoffs.  North Lincoln, West Lincoln and East Lincoln were all invited, as were Maiden and Cherryville.  The playoffs begin next Friday night.

It’s quite the local hub for recreation and all sorts of activities. It’s the East Lincoln Community Center. And according to Lincoln County Parks and Recreation spokeswoman Missy Calloway, the center is the place to be for multiple autumnal athletic activities.

32nd Annual Lincolnton Rotary Club Apple Festival Road Race Results
The annual Lincolnton Rotary Club 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run results are in for the event that coincides with the Apple Festival in Lincolnton. This was the 32nd annual run with racers of all ages participating on Saturday, October 27.

Bill Ward has been called North Carolina’s biggest fan of the Chicago Cubs. As a tribute to the team that is his passionate obsession, Ward has dedicated a section of his house with a record-setting collection of paraphernalia. LHS Team Collects Money For Hurricane Florence Relief
Members of the Lincolnton High School basketball team collected money for the American Red Cross at a recent football game to support Hurricane Florence relief efforts. The team collected from the fans during the September 21 game against Newton-Conover and was presented to the Red Cross prior to Lincolnton High School’s Homecoming game October 12.

Serenity Tattiyanny Boulany, daughter of Johnny Boulany and Jennivieve Phravisay, was crowned the 2018 Homecoming Queen during halftime festivities at the October 12 football game against North Lincoln.

Lenoir-Rhyne University’s 2018 Homecoming Weekend will take place Oct. 12-14 and feature daily activities leading up to the Homecoming game that pits the Bears against the Limestone College Saints at Moretz Stadium. The Homecoming court will also be presented. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

Ty Williams ran for four touchdowns for the North Lincoln JVs Thursday as they beat the East Lincoln JVs.  West Lincoln's JVs claimed a close victory over the Newton-Conover JVs and the Bandys JVs continued unbeaten with an easy win over the Lincolnton JVs.

Last Friday's games included some spectacular performances.  The North Lincoln defense bent but didn't break in holding off West Lincoln and giving the Rebels their first loss of the season.  At Bandys, the Trojans' Ethan Howard had a night to remember, and the East Lincoln Mustangs' offense exploded on Lake Norman Charter.
