Serenity Tattiyanny Boulany, daughter of Johnny Boulany and Jennivieve Phravisay, was crowned the 2018 Homecoming Queen during halftime festivities at the October 12 football game against North Lincoln.

The Lady Rebels finished third out of seven in Wednesday golf play in their final conference match of the season. Three Lady Rebels, Laycee Hoffman, Sophie Kilpatrick, and Rae Watson, have qualified for the 2-A Western Regional next week in Lenoir.

The Ladies Golf team from Lake Norman Charter finished the season in first place in the South Fork 2A conference. Kayla Yang of Maiden was named Conference Player of the Year and Conference Coach of the Year is Laurie Fabian of Lake Norman Charter.

Community Invited To Lenoir-Rhyne 2018 Homecoming Events
Lenoir-Rhyne University’s 2018 Homecoming Weekend will take place Oct. 12-14 and feature daily activities leading up to the Homecoming game that pits the Bears against the Limestone College Saints at Moretz Stadium. The Homecoming court will also be presented. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

Ty Williams ran for four touchdowns for the North Lincoln JVs Thursday as they beat the East Lincoln JVs.  West Lincoln's JVs claimed a close victory over the Newton-Conover JVs and the Bandys JVs continued unbeaten with an easy win over the Lincolnton JVs.

Last Friday's games included some spectacular performances.  The North Lincoln defense bent but didn't break in holding off West Lincoln and giving the Rebels their first loss of the season.  At Bandys, the Trojans' Ethan Howard had a night to remember, and the East Lincoln Mustangs' offense exploded on Lake Norman Charter.

South Point handed Lincolnton its second loss 42-7 while the other Lincoln County teams took the night off.  Maiden cruised to a 68-0 win over East Burke, and Cherryville pulled out another victory 26-15 over Chase.
