The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) 2018 Football Playoffs begin this Friday night (Nov. 16th).
FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
North Lincoln and Cherryville will play home games. The Knights will host Smoky Mountain in the 2AA playoffs while the Ironmen will host Community School of Davidson in the 1AA playoffs.
East Lincoln will travel to Canton to play Pisgah, while West Lincoln will travel to Shelby, also in the 2AA playoffs. Maiden will go to Forest City to play East Rutherford in the 2A playoffs.
South Fork 2A Conference champion Bandys will host Franklin in the 2AA playoffs. Fred T. Foard will play at West Stokes. South Point will play at Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to Cherryville two other teams from the Southern Piedmont 1A Conference will be in the 1AA playoffs. Bessemer City will host Highland Tech while Mtn. Island Charter will travel to Swain County.
Undefeated Thomas Jefferson Academy, winner of the Southern Piedmont 1A Conference championship, got a bye in the first round of the 1A playoffs and will play their first playoff game at home next Friday--November 23rd.
Hunter Huss, Stuart Cramer, Kings Mountain, Crest, and Burns all made the 3A playoffs. Huss, undefeated and the #1 seed in the west, will host Burns. Kings Mountain will play at home against West Rowan. Crest will host Stuart Cramer.
Gastonia Ashbrook made the 3AA playoffs and will travel to Boone to play undefeated Watauga.
While the rain from Thursday (and possibly a very slight amount of snow--no accumulation--from overnight will be gone by Friday, fields will still be wet, and there is a remote possibility that some games may be postponed.

The Smoky Mountain at North Lincoln game will be broadcast on WLON Radio (1050AM, 107.5FM).
The Community School of Davidson at Cherryville game will be broadcast on WCSL Radio (1590AM, 92.3 FM).
The Burns at Hunter Huss game will be broadcast on WOHS (1390AM, 101.5FM).
All of those games can also be heard on ktcbroadcasting.com as well as the West Lincoln at Shelby, West Rowan at Kings Mountain, and Stuart Cramer at Crest games.
