Boys: East Lincoln 80, Lake Norman Charter 55 --- East Lincoln outscored Lake Norman Charter 43-17 in the first half and held on in the second to win by a score of 80-55 in the South Fork 2A Conference opener Friday night in Huntersville. The Mustangs had three players in double figures led by junior, Justin Kuthan, who had a game and team high double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds; senior, Sidney Dollar, added 18 points and 8 assists; and senior, John Bean, had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Knights had three players in double figures led by sophomore, Cal Reed, who had 18 points; followed by senior, Ian Martino, who had 15 points; and freshman, Donovan Atwell, added 11 points. Girls: East Lincoln 39, Lake Norman Charter 32 --- East Lincoln’s Brianna Tadlock scored 13 points with 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist in their win over Lake Norman Charter Friday night. Also for East Lincoln Kelsey Campo scored 10 points with 10 rebounds and 3 assists.  East Lincoln (2-3, 1-0): Brianna Tadlock 13, Kelsey Campo 10, K. Cox 7, A. Robinette 4, R. Ross 3, T. CHASE AT CHERRYVILLE

Girls: Chase at Cherryville --- A final score was not reported for this game.

Boys: Cherryville 77, Chase 72 --- The Cherryville varsity basketball team won Friday's home non-conference game against Chase by a score of 77-72. The Ironmen had five players in double figures.   Lane Harrill lead the way with 22 points, Nathan Jeffers had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Matt Cain 12 points, Justin Alexander 11 points, Lavonte Hughes 10 points 8 assist.  The Ironmen were down 64 to 55 with five minutes remaining and went on a 22- 6 run over the last five minutes of the game to secure the win.
