BOYS: East Lincoln 72, Statesville 65 --- East Lincoln led 37-29 at halftime and held on in the second half to take the hard-fought non-conference game by a score of 72-65 Friday night in Statesville. The Mustangs had three players in double figures led by senior, Sidney Dollar, who had a career high 39 points and also had 6 rebounds and 6 steals, while junior, Justin Kuthan, had 10 points and 9 rebounds, and senior, John Bean, added 10 points. Statesville was led by senior, Jeremiah Mott, who had 21 points, and senior, Devonte Knox, added 12 points. With the win, the Mustangs take the season series against the Greyhounds and have won 7 games in a row to start the season. The Mustangs will be hosting the Garinger Wildcats in the first round of the East Lincoln Winter Jam on Thursday, December 27, while the Greyhounds will be playing in the Statesville Landmark Tourney. Of note: Dollar has had back to back games of 34 and 39 points.  East Lincoln is currently the # 2 ranked team in 2A, # 16 in NC overall, and have reached their all-time high of # 343 nationally according to Maxpreps. BOYS: East Lincoln 77, South Iredell 71 --- East Lincoln overcame a 3-point deficit going into the fourth quarter by outscoring South Iredell 19-10 to win the game 77-71 in the non-conference game Thursday night in Troutman. The Mustangs had three players in double figures led by senior, Sidney Dollar, who had a career high 34 points and also had 16 rebounds and 6 assists; junior, Justin Kuthan, added another double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds; while senior, Allden Horne, added 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Vikings had two players in double figures led by senior, Greg Liechty, who had 23 points, followed by sophomore, Seth Aeschilman, who had 11 points. BOYS: Cherryville 82, Thomas Jefferson 52 --- The Ironmen had all ten players in the score book in a non-conference game vs. Thomas Jefferson.  Lane Harrill lead the way with 30 points, Lavonte Hughes 11 points 8 assist, Justin Alexander 11 points, Nathan Jeffers 10 points 8 rebounds, Austin Thompson 7 points. The Ironmen are 8-1 and next play in the Bud Black/Dennis Tate Holiday Classic in Cherryville on Dec. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
