South Fork Conference Tournament at Hickory Fairgrounds

North Lincoln 12, East Lincoln 9
Bandys 3, West Lincoln 1

Championship game (N. Lincoln vs Bandys) set for 7 PM Friday (May 3rd) weather permitting.  If it's rained out, it will be rescheduled for Saturday at Lincolnton.

Southern Piedmont 1A Conference Tournament championship

Lincoln Charter 7, Cherryville 3 (9 innings)
The Eagles had lost three regular season games to the Ironmen, and only one of those was close--an extra inning game back in mid-March.  It’s the second straight season in which the team that prevailed during the regular season lost in the tournament title game in extra innings--Cherryville beat Lincoln Charter 6-4 in eight innings in last year’s tournament championship game.  The Ironmen stranded a dozen runners during the game Thursday and the Eagles took advantage.  After trailing 2-0 in the first inning, they took the lead in the 5th and while Cherryville tied the score, they never led again. A four-run rally in the top of the 9th put the game away. Dylan Dodson and Ryan Restino each had three hits for Lincoln Charter.

Maiden 3, North Lincoln 2
East Lincoln 3, Bandys 2

Championship (Maiden vs East Lincoln) will be played Friday night 7 PM at East Lincoln (weather permitting).  If postponed by rain, it will be rescheduled for Saturday.

North Lincoln 3, Bandys 0 (3 OT)
It took three overtimes, but the North Lincoln girls soccer team got a 6-3 win over Bandys Thursday. All three goals were scored in the third overtime penalty kick shootout.

Lincolnton 5, Maiden 1
Lake Norman Charter 9, West Lincoln 0
Newton-Conover 4, East Lincoln 3 (2 OT)
