SOCCER

Only one Lincoln County team came out victorious in round one of the state girls soccer playoffs. East Lincoln beat Franklin 2-1 to advance to a second round match on Friday.

North Lincoln lost to South Point 3-0; Lincolnton lost to Central Academy 4-1.

In other matches, West Davidson beat Maiden 5-0; East Henderson downed Newton-Conover 4-2;Fred T. Foard beat North Surry 7-0; and Lake Norman Charter, the regular season South Fork Conference champs, scored nine goals in a 9-0 win over East Rutherford.

Pine Lake Prep @ Lincoln Charter (LC had 1st round bye)

SOFTBALL

North Lincoln beat Bandys 10-0 in the opening round of the state 2A softball playoffs. The other Lincoln County teams were eliminated: West Lincoln lost to North Davidson 3-2 and East Lincoln lost a 13-inning game to BUnker Hill 2-1. Maiden lost to Central Davidson 2-1; Mt. Pleasant downed Newton-Conover 11-1; and Fred T. Foard fell to East Rutherford 1-0.

In the 1A playoffs, Cherryville lost to South Stokes 8-1.

THURSDAY GAME

Mtn. Island Charter, who had a first round bye, played Starmount on Thursday and lost 7-6 eliminating them from the 1A playoffs.

FRIDAY GAMES

Draughn @ North Lincoln
Murphy @ Lincoln Charter (Eagles had 1st round bye)

BASEBALL

North Lincoln and West Lincoln both won their first round games in the baseball playoffs. North beat Central Academy 5-4, and West topped South Point 5-1. East Lincoln fell to Franklin 5-0 and Bandys lost to Hibriten 3-2. Fred T. Foard beat Lake Norman Charter 9-3. Maiden's game at Forbush was rained out Tuesday and was played Wednesday.  The Blue Devils won 5-3 and will play at West Stokes on Friday.

In the 1A playoffs, Lincoln Charter beat Union Academy 6-1.
