West & North Both Advance In Baseball Playoffs
East Lincoln's Joel Reiter advances to tennis semi-finals

East Lincoln's Joel Reiter beat a Carrboro tennis player 6-3, 6-0 on Friday to advance to the 2A individual semifinals on Saturday vs a player from Clinton. Brann Reid of Newton-Conover also advanced to the semi-finals. Those matches will be at the Cary Tennis Park. In team competition, Lincoln Charter (11-0) will host Elkin (16-1) in the 3rd round on Monday (May 13th).

In baseball, West Lincoln beat Franklin in 7-4 and will now host Smoky Mtn. in round 3 of the playoffs on Tuesday (May 14).

North Lincoln beat Wilkes Central 10-0 after the mercy rule ended their game in the 5th inning; North will also play at home on Tuesday against West Stokes; they beat Maiden 9-6 on Friday.

Mt. Airy eliminated Cherryville from the 1A baseball playoffs 3-2. Lincoln Charter was also eliminated by Queen's Grant from Matthews, losing 4-3 in 11 innings.

Fred T. Foard eliminated the East Lincoln girls soccer team with a 3-0 win.

The North Lincoln softball team was eliminated by Draughn after a 1-0 loss Friday evening. Lincoln Charter's softball team was also eliminated from the 1A playoffs, losing 4-2 to Murphy.
